Keeping Up With My World...

Its been a while since we've gone around the world to see what is going on but as usual it's our responsibility as citizens to know what our brothers and sisters are doing across the world...

The true power of women... This article is unbelievable in so many ways. For one, it shows how important women are for a society to develop and progress. In Afghanistan, if these young girls are able to get educated and become leaders in society, they themselves could bring about the changes that a devastated country needs. Reading this also makes you realize how fortunate we are. We take our education for granted but consider the power of education. Really makes you grateful for what we have. And then of course its about Afghanistan, a country that has been destroyed and is trying to recover. The ways of these radical fundamentalists is frightening and it is hard to fathom how these Taliban conceive society should be. But yes an excellent read...

Kenya has been on the headlines for a while now... I am still not too educated about the issue but from what I do know, basically there were elections held some time back and the opposition leader seemed to have won. However, the ruling party manipulated the election (or has been accused of doing so) and there has been chaos and warfare since then. I found this particular article interesting because it is about leadership... here you have a man who wants people to protest for him, but how much courage does he have? Is he willing to risk his life? True revolutionaries have to be willing to do a bit more than what Odinga is doing here...

Taco Bell everywhere?!?! Remember the last time you went to India and thought to yourself, "The only thing missing here is Taco Bell." Well that may not be last much longer! This is an interesting article about globalization and how Yum Brands is trying to take its fast food to the world despite different tastes and preferences. Kinda cool how they're adjusting and spreading. Did you know that Taco Bell isn't even Mexican food???
