What's different about this title....Pakistan President Mr. Pervez Musharraf? Yep, as promised General Musharraf resigned his position as head of Pakistan's Army today, paving the way for him to be sworn in for another five-year term as President. Many are calling his move a strategic one but only time will tell. This article from Time looks at Pakistan more critically and questions how democratic they are but it is interesting to ponder whether democracy is necessary and why America parades around the world imposing this system of government upon everyone...
As many of you may (or should) know there is a major peace conference that is going on in Annapolis currently amongst the Middle East countries. It is a huge deal for all these countries to sit together and even try to talk but will it lead to anything? And what about the people who are not being represented? Will Iran or Hamas or the terrorists make it all a failure? Also at the conference: It's taken seven years but Israeli and the Palestinian leaders will start formal peace negotiations again today. But is this peace summit really about Israel and Palestine or is there, dare we say it, a bigger agenda involved? As a Palestinian adviser tells the New York Times: "The Arab [nations] have come here not because they love the Jews or even the Palestinians....[but] because they need a strategic alliance with the United States against Iran".

i was just looking for some articles and i came across this one and i thought it was pretty interesting..
it was about how washing hands with is more effective than taking medicine for respiratory illnesses, and it helps for much more than just the common cold. it might sound a little superficial but it's something so simple that we hardly do. especially when we're at school, i doubt anyone takes the time to wash their hands (except after using the bathroom of course), and that's one place thats filled with germs and bacteria.
